Tsunami which wrecked havoc in the eastern coastal states of our country 10 years back on December 26, 2004, claiming thousands of lives and leaving several thousands marooned, is still vivid in our memories.
Let's pray in silence for tsunami victims
Apart from India, it (tsunami) had struck a dozen countries around the Indian Ocean rim, eradicated entire coastal communities, decimated families and crashed over tourist-filled beaches the morning after Christmas. Survivors waded through a horror show of corpse-filled waters.
In the past 10 years since this tragedy struck India, though life has come back to normalcy in the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu which suffered maximum out of this devastating tragedy, there are still thousands who are living in miserable conditions. Moreover, no help and support can be a substitute for the enormous loss of lives caused by this tragedy.
On 10th anniversary of tsunami today, we must pray in silence for the victims who lost their lives and must commit our unflinching support for the survivors.
